Description

Vulcan Print Series – Flexible Solvent-Based Ink for Extreme Stretch Applications

The Vulcan Series is a high-performance, Australian-developed solvent-based screen ink designed specifically for challenging substrates that require exceptional flexibility, stretch resistance, and adhesion. Ideal for wetsuits, swim caps, inflatable boats, umbrellas, and EVA foams, this ink is trusted for demanding industrial and sporting applications.

Vulcan inks air dry to a gloss finish in approximately 45 minutes and are not suitable for jet drying. For enhanced chemical resistance and bonding, Vulcan Catalyst FVP176 and Primer FVP100 are available.

Key Benefits:

  • Superior stretch and flex resistance for high-performance materials
  • Excellent adhesion to substrates like EVA, Mylar, nylon, and PVC-based inflatables
  • Air dries to a high-gloss finish
  • Can be catalyzed and primed for improved durability
  • Resists cracking and peeling under extreme stress

Recommended Substrates:

  • Wetsuits
  • Swim caps
  • Inflatable boats
  • Umbrella fabrics
  • Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and raw Mylar films

Not suitable for silicone-based rubbers. Always pre-test before production.

Recommended Emulsions:
To ensure optimal stencil durability and edge definition when printing with Vulcan inks, we recommend:

  • Murakami SR
  • Chromaline UDC ACE
  • Saati SAATIGRAF HS3
  • Saati Grafic HU

Screen Setup:

  • Mesh: 43T to 140T monofilament
  • Stencil: Solvent-resistant or dual-cure emulsion
  • Coverage: Approximately 30–50 m²/kg depending on mesh count

Drying & Curing:
Touch dry in ~45 minutes (air dry). Do not use jet dryers. For improved performance, catalyze with 20% FVP176 or use Primer FVP100 (apply and allow 36 hours dry time before printing).

Colour Range:
8 standard colours plus Black and White, including:

  • FVP111 Black – Opaque, Excellent Lightfastness
  • FVP112 White – Opaque, Excellent
  • FVP24 Orange – Opaque, Excellent
  • FVP52 Light Blue – Opaque, Excellent
  • FVP57 Royal Blue – Opaque, Excellent
