Description
UVI-Polycure 74 Series – UV Screen Ink for Treated Polypropylene Substrates
The UVI-Polycure 74 Series is a 100% UV-curable screen printing ink system developed for high-performance printing on treated polypropylene materials such as Corflute®, Yuppo, and Plasnet. Engineered for maximum adhesion and vibrant image reproduction, this ink system meets the specific demands of printers handling a variety of flat-sheet polypropylene jobs.
Supplied press-ready, UVI-Polycure inks require no thinning (optional reducer use up to 5% by weight). With strong screen stability and minimal in-screen thickening, it ensures consistent print quality and easy handling throughout production runs.
Key Benefits:
- 100% UV solids – no solvents or water
- Excellent adhesion on treated polypropylene substrates
- Fast, consistent curing under 75–80 mJ/cm² UV exposure
- Great screen stability – won’t thicken or gel on screen
- Up to 2 years of outdoor lightfastness (at full strength)
Recommended Substrates:
- Treated polypropylene sheets (e.g. Corflute®, Yuppo, Plasnet, Aquatech)
- Surface tension between 38–42 dynes/cm is recommended
Recommended Emulsions:
To ensure durability and resolution when printing with UVI-Polycure inks, use solvent- and UV-compatible emulsions such as:
- Murakami SR
- Chromaline UDC ACE
- Saati SAATIGRAF HS3
- Saati Grafic HU
View these options in our Solvent & UV Emulsions collection.
Screen Setup:
- Mesh: 150/31 recommended
- Stencil: Dual-cure emulsion (e.g. Saati HU or HS), 2 + 2 coating
- Squeegee: Triple durometer (75/95/75) for optimal deposit
Curing & Post-Cure Handling:
Cure at 75–80 mJ/cm² UV energy at 25 m/min belt speed. Full adhesion develops within 12–24 hours as the ink completes its crosslinking process. Initial adhesion is achieved within 3 hours. Do not expose ink to UV during printing.
Coverage:
Approximately 75–90 m²/kg through 150/31 mesh, depending on substrate and print conditions.
Cleaning:
Clean with PROWASH or GR Series screenwashes. PROWASH is low-odour, non-flammable, and highly effective at removing ink residue.
Storage & Shelf Life:
Store in sealed, UV-resistant containers at 18–24°C in a clean, dust-free environment. Use within 12 months from date of manufacture for best results.
Important Notes:
Always pre-test adhesion and curing on your specific substrate. Do not blend UVI-Polycure inks with other UV ink systems. For enhanced water resistance and bonding, especially on rigid polypropylene, add 3–5% ST373 Adhesion Promoter and use within 12–16 hours of mixing.
