Monocure Universal UBI Series – High-Speed UV Screen Ink for Plastic Containers

The Monocure Universal UBI Series is a high-performance UV-curable screen ink system formulated for fast, multicolour screen printing on plastic bottles, tubes, and containers. Designed for high-speed rotary or flatbed lines with interstation UV or LED curing, this series delivers superior image definition, rapid curing, and wide substrate compatibility.

Ideal for applications in personal care, household, and industrial product packaging, Monocure UBI offers excellent intercoat adhesion, water and chemical resistance, and static-free printing performance. It is not recommended for direct food packaging applications.

Recommended Substrates:

• Polypropylene and polyethylene bottles and tubes (treated)
• PET and some grades of PVC containers (not suitable for bi-axially oriented PET)

Recommended Emulsions:
For optimal stencil durability and compatibility with UV-curable inks, we recommend the following emulsions:

• Murakami SR
• Chromaline UDC ACE
• Saati SAATIGRAF HS3
• Saati Grafic HU

Screen Setup:

• Mesh: 140–180 threads/cm
• Squeegee: Medium/hard polyurethane

Curing & Production Notes:
Cures under medium pressure mercury vapour, metal halide, or LED lamps (385–395 nm). LED units often improve cure on dense blacks and whites. Cure accelerator (UVAD905) may be used for difficult colours. Avoid long delays between prints on single-colour lines to ensure intercoat adhesion.

Coverage:
Up to 80 m²/kg, depending on mesh, squeegee, stencil thickness, and print setup.

Overprinting & Finishing:
Suitable for UV flexo overprinting when using silicone-free opaque white (UBISFW). Compatible with foil blocking; testing recommended prior to full production. Avoid mixing UBISFW with standard UBI inks to prevent contamination.

Storage & Shelf Life:
Store in sealed, light-safe containers between 5–30°C. Shelf life is at least 24 months under proper conditions.

Important Notes:
Not suitable for food-contact surfaces or low migration applications. Formulated to exclude carcinogenic and mutagenic substances in line with EuPIA guidelines.
